Brett: do you know when the last time you were on the show was #DOTBOT BANK DOWNLOAD# Jeff: Oh, I had just left a job in public radio, so I want to say it was like 2013 or something. Jeff: Yeah, I haven’t heard anything about people still talking about it to this day.īrett: Well, it’s been long enough that if anyone still remembers the last time you were on, I’m sure they won’t mind a refresher, but we have new stuff to talk about since then, too. So I’m just going to assume we can call this a clean slate. Brett: So this just for listeners this will be the last official episode of systematic on this. I’m going to take a little break after this. But anyway, that sounded like I was finishing the show, but Jeff May have something to say about that, but at least a month or two we’re gonna go dark and hope to be back soon. Jeff: it’s just, I buy it as a season finale. Brett: SSo what do you do for a day job right now? Brett: So you have the distinguished honor of being the season’s final guest.
Jeff: What I do for a day job is what I call investigative research. There is a thing called investigative research in the sort of academic research world, which I am not a part of. But it seems to have, it seems to have fizzled a little. So I’m just like borrowing it for a little bit.
So I don’t have to explain, like, I’m not a journalist anymore, but I’m still doing journalists, like things with that said I’m not a journalist anymore, but I’m still doing journalist. I started working on a project with a small team of people in Omaha, Nebraska about four years ago. Really get inside the experiences of the kids there who are going through the juvenile justice system and their families and their siblings. And to really kind of understand how how experience with the system ripples through an individual’s life, but also through their family life and their social life and all of that stuff. The game, as well as being incredibly addictive, is really complicated as the ghosts are totally unpredictable. One of the most entertaining modes of DotBot is the multiplayer mode, by means of which four friends can play the more than 100 hundred levels available at the same time.
The ghosts that have to follow the main character are ghost robots, and they can touch each other a limited amount of times before dying, which is really helpful. Now, instead of swallowing pac-dots, DotBot has to eat screws and bolts, as well as other mechanical elements. If there's a game that we can consider both simple and addictive, it has to be PacMan, this time round reincarnated as DotBot, a game based on the popular Pacman created by Namco in the '80s, with the same gameplay but with better graphics.
